An Inspiring Book Of Motivational And Inspirational Poems And Stories

"The Nurse in the Delivery Room Slapped Me... Once"
What It Is - And What It's Not
Above all else, here's what's important to note... Although there are most definitely elements of warmth and encouragement to be found, as the title implies (sort of anyway) - the style and frankness of the book's content is far from the traditional content of typical inspirational and motivational books on the market. In other words, by no means is it a feel good, just-believe-and-things-will-happen-for-you offering. Instead, the message from the inspirational poems and stories is... increasing your happiness and fulfillment begins with refocusing your thoughts, beliefs and degree of commitment – and then simply persevering, each and every day. It’s about faith in the great power we have within and even greater faith in even greater things. It’s about the power we have to choose what we will think, say and do today – and whom we will inspire… It’s about this life and the finite time we’ve been blessed with and how we will, from this point, choose to spend it.
The amazing thing is the perspectives presented in the book's inspirational poems and life stories are just as relevant for the admittedly skeptical as they are for the avid reader with the collection of twenty-seven inspirational and motivational books on his or her bookshelf. The motivating and inspiring perspectives are just as relevant for the young and the not so young... for those chasing big dreams and those with magnificent dreams still to be defined... for those with tremendous means and those now truly ready to begin to ascend... for those who wake up everyday with a smile and those who don't particularly appreciate the "Smilers". The perspectives offered in the book's poems and stories can be relevant for just about anyone. And these are the perspectives that are the foundation, inspiration and very purpose for the atypical collection of inspiring poems, stories and quotations shared in this uniquely inspirational and motivational book.
And so, these are the motivating and inspiring perspectives, and this is the book, that will challenge and uplift you, if you are truly ready to begin to perceive yourself, your life, your destiny and the world around you in a new and more inspired way... if you are truly ready to begin to expect and demand more from each day - much as these perspectives, stories and poems from the book have begun to impact three-time-author Betty Dravis, as passionately shared in her five star Amazon.com review of "The Nurse in the Delivery Room Slapped Me... Once" below.
Thanks Ms. Dravis for embracing your potential, having the desire and motivation to endeavor to make a greater difference in the world around you, the inspirational and motivational lift for me - and for, in such an awesome fashion, reminding me exactly why I do what I do. Thank you.

Inspirational Book: A Reader's Perspective
To get more out of life, read this book! Unique, yet easy perspective!
As this author says, "There has to be more to life than the here and now" ... "more to the hustle-bustle of daily life." And he goes on to tell us how to unlock our own amazing potential.
When I received an ARC of this inspiring book, the title alone grabbed my attention. What's that all about? I wondered, and when Mr. Anthony went on to explain that that was the first blow life dealt him, I began to understand.
I had heard some of these truths in other forms, of course, but none so succinct and clear. This book taught me how to make simple changes in my reactions to the blows life hands me, and how to adjust my attitude so that I could learn from them and "make a difference" ... not only in my own life but in the lives of my friends and family and all those with whom I come in contact.
I confess it won't be an overnight miracle, but if I stop to think about what I'm doing and plan where I'm going and what I want to be (not what others want me to be) I will change little by little until I eventually grow into the successful person I was meant to be.
This book is clear, concise and easy to read, with many examples of successful people to guide us along our way. I especially enjoyed the inspiring story of Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame. He was knocked down more than the average person, but he persisted in diligently pursuing his dream, and the rest is history. We all know how successful he was.
The author also describes how an insignificant little book he read as a child affected him; he cites an intriguing psychological case study ... Well, I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that each chapter gave me more insight into how I (and other readers) can unlock our own potential and fulfill our dreams.
Thanks, Mr. Anthony, for renewed inspiration and for sharing your wisdom with the world. I highly recommend this book.

At this point, perhaps a more definitive description of this inspirational book's audacious purpose and very much unique approach is in order. Here's a quick peak at the book's Introduction for additional insight;
Introduction
This is a book of potential, faith, purpose, hopes and dreams. This is a book about the importance of time, the power of choice, growth, toughening up and having a heart, commitment, passion, and inspiration. This is a book that considers the ups and downs, life, and death – and what it all means. More than anything however, this is a book that considers a journey’s impact, a life-long quest for meaning, happiness and fulfillment, and the resulting stories, perspectives, and lessons that I have collected along the way.
As it turns out, somehow in the midst of years of just trying to survive the excruciating heartache, disheartenment and sorrow that come with having someone you love with all your heart taken away. Life began to take on a whole new meaning for me. I realized that life is fleeting. I realized that whether we utilize our time wisely, whether we believe in ourselves, whether we challenge our fears, whether we endeavor to reach for our dreams and aspirations, whether we strive to make a difference - one thing is certain: the sand will continue to fall through the hourglass, and one day will soon become the next.
So, in the time we have here, why wouldn’t we choose to spend that time purposefully, striving for that which matters? Why wouldn’t we want to live our lives dedicated to experiencing every bit of true happiness and fulfillment we could possibly acquire?
Perhaps you doubt that “true happiness and fulfillment” really exist, having long ago accepted these concepts as trumped-up illusions treasured only by people not living in the real world. A story comes to mind. Years ago, in passing, I asked a young boy how he was. He answered that he was doing “good” because he didn’t have to go to school that day, continuing that he didn’t like school and wished he were done. I asked him whether he realized the importance of school, adding that if he got good grades he could be anything he wanted to be. I asked if he could be anything, what he would choose. He responded, “You mean like a bus driver?”
Don’t get me wrong, a bus driver is a perfectly honorable and respectable profession. I think the boy was working with a very limited perspective about his universe of options. His thought process wasn’t along the lines of: not interested in becoming a CEO, judge, doctor, astronaut, or a governor… I think I want to be a bus driver. He simply wasn’t aware he had so many other options. Sound familiar?
Perhaps your perspective is, after years of trying, that true happiness and fulfillment just isn’t within you. Since I have a hard time believing that the Almighty indiscriminately gifted some of us with a magnificent, destiny-defining spark, and did not gift countless others, my suspicion is that we all have the potential within us. It’s just a matter, for some, of unlocking the door so that the potential can be released.
I’d like to think that, so many years ago, having presented that young boy with a more opportunistic outlook and additional career options, that he went on to improve his life. I’d also like to think that the stories and perspectives in this book will help unlock your amazing new potential and very own unique and winning mindset.
Make no mistake about it, we are all interconnected and most everything has purpose. What I do today has impact on your tomorrow. And what you do tomorrow has impact on others and me the following day—for good or bad. My mother was called home yesterday. Today I wrote, and you’re reading, this book. And if your heart and mind are open, if you possess a willingness to consider, embrace and incorporate – then happiness and fulfillment can be yours and we can all look forward to a brighter tomorrow.

Daily Affirmation
I affirm that on this day I will…
Take the time to listen to the rustling leaves,
And to the passing breeze that made them so,
Marvel at just a bit of the majestic beauty
In the world around me,
And in some way rediscover the innocence of my youth.
I will tell, or better yet show,
A loved one how much they mean to me,
Help someone in need,
Immerse myself in that, which inspires me,
Strengthen my faith in the Almighty,
And strive to be someone in whom
The Almighty can have faith in return.
I will smile each and every chance I get;
And, whenever I can, bring someone else along for the ride.
I will endeavor to be modest as a rule,
But audacious when called for.
I will always know that I am here for a purpose,
And I will respect and appreciate this day
For the blessed and amazing gift it is.
I affirm that the precious time I have this day
Will be spent wisely,
I affirm, this day, zestfully will be the way I live.
